Building for Kids was established in 2006 by a volunteer committee made up of individuals from within the Real Estate, Development and Construction community. These individuals help drive fundraising initiatives within their industry on behalf of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The Building for Kids program offers an opportunity for the Real Estate, Development and Construction industries to be recognized as community leaders by making a donation on behalf of a specific project including site developments, real estate sales and industry-related events.
Designated Building for Kids projects have the opportunity to showcase their support by displaying “This Project Helps” signage on project sites. BC Children’s Hospital Foundation will work with donors to create a customized plan that will promote the partnership and invite the consultants, general contractors, sub-trades, realtors and property managers working on the project to become involved and make a difference in the lives of the children of BC.
In celebration of their donation, companies are invited to use the Building for Kids brand for the duration of their project. This brand can be used on collateral and marketing materials to help promote the project and their alignment with BC Children’s Hospital. As well, there are opportunities for companies to receive naming recognition in various media and publications throughout the year.

| It's really the house that love built! Paul de Koning and Bill Driesen of Double D Developments wanted to give back to BC Children's Hospital. Paul's daughter has been a patient here since she was born. They decided to build a house and they asked every single trade involved to donate their time and product. And everyone did! The home in Chilliwack has now sold with full proceeds coming back to Children's and being split between the Limb Lengthening Program and Oncology Research. |
